William Krohne
PGA Director of Golf
Bill Krohne has 20 years of PGA certification under his belt. The creation of William Krohne Inc. in 1991 led him to operate Whispering Hills for nineteen years, Douglas Golf Club for eight years. Therafter Capital City Golf Management was formed and operates South Grove Golf Course, Winding River Golf Course, and Thatcher Golf Course currently. Bill strives to provide a exceptional experience to all guests who visit his facilities.
Doug Rushton
PGA Head Golf Professional
Doug Rushton was born and raised on the South side of Indianapolis. Doug returns to Winding River Golf Course again, after spending 17 years as the Head Golf Professional at Oak Tree Golf Course in Plainfield IN. Doug worked at Winding River as the Assistant Pro from 1992-1996 while he was earning his college degree from IUPUI. Doug then he went on to become a PGA Member as he was working at Oak Tree. Doug brings to us over 20 years of golf course management experience. Doug’s goal is to help provide that exceptional experience to all who visit Winding River.
Chris Clemens
PGA Director of Instruction & Player Development
Chris Clemens is an Indianapolis native and comes to Winding River GC with over 15 years of teaching experience. Chris is a PGA member, a former NCAA coach and a certified club performance and fitting specialist. Chris is an accomplished player with numerous amateur, collegiate and professional victories. “I love to grow the game of golf and help people accomplish their goals.”
Greer E. Craig
GCSAA Superintendent
Greer has an extensive background in golf course maintenance. He started at the age of fourteen at Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana. After working at several golf courses and attending Purdue University, he has developed the skills to be a top notch superintendent. Greer joined the Winding River team in 1997 and quickliy moved into the Head Golf Course Superintendent position. He aquired his Class A credentials through the GCSAA in 2001. After 15 years of impeccable service, Greer still strives to provide the best overall playing conditions at Winding River Golf Course.
